Exercise: Rebounding on a bellicon® UK Rebounder provides an excellent low-impact cardiovascular workout. The gentle bouncing motion helps increase heart rate, improve blood circulation, and enhance cardiovascular health without putting excessive stress on joints and bones. Regular aerobic exercise like rebounding can lower the risk of heart disease, improve stamina, and boost overall fitness levels.
Lymphatic system
stimulation: Rebounding on a bellicon® UK Rebounder promotes lymphatic system function. The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in removing waste and toxins from the body, boosting immune function, and enhancing overall well-being. The up-and-down motion of rebounding stimulates lymphatic flow, aiding in detoxification and strengthening the immune system.
Muscle toning and strength
The bellicon® UK Rebounder engages various muscle groups throughout the body. Bouncing on the rebounder helps tone and strengthen the legs, core muscles, and even the upper body when combined with specific exercises. Regular use of the rebounder can improve muscle tone, enhance flexibility, and contribute to a more balanced physique.
Increased bone density: Bellicon
UK Rebounders provide a weight-bearing exercise, which is essential for maintaining and improving bone density. Rebounding helps stimulate bone growth, making it an excellent form of exercise for individuals at risk of osteoporosis or looking to prevent its onset. Regular rebounding can help strengthen bones, reduce the risk of fractures, and improve overall bone health.
Stress reduction and improved
mood: Rebounding on a bellicon® UK Rebounder releases endorphins, which are natural mood-enhancing chemicals in the brain. Engaging in regular rebounding sessions can help reduce stress levels, improve mental well-being, and boost overall mood. The rhythmic bouncing motion can be a fun and enjoyable form of exercise, contributing to a happier and more positive outlook on life.
Please note that while rebounding can offer numerous health benefits, it’s always important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise regime, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
Chair-Based Exercise:
Chair-based exercise brings the fun factor to community engagement and inclusivity! It offers an accessible platform where people of all abilities can join in the excitement. This vibrant and supportive environment brings everyone together, regardless of limitations, creating a joyous and inclusive community experience. Get ready to have a blast while strengthening connections and embracing inclusivity through chair-based exercise!
Improved Strength and Muscle Tone
Chair-based exercises target various muscle groups, including the arms, legs, core, and back. Regular participation in these exercises helps strengthen muscles, enhance stability, and improve overall muscle tone.
Increased Flexibility and Joint Mobility
Chair-based exercises incorporate gentle stretches and range-of-motion movements, which can help improve flexibility and joint mobility. Regular practice can enhance joint function, reduce stiffness, and increase overall flexibility.
Cardiovascular Health
Engaging in chair-based exercises that involve continuous movements can raise the heart rate and provide cardiovascular benefits. Activities like seated marching, arm circles, or seated dancing can help improve heart health, increase blood circulation, and enhance endurance.
Balance and Coordination
Chair-based exercises often include exercises that focus on balance and coordination. These activities can help improve stability, reduce the risk of falls, and enhance overall body control and coordination.
Psychological Well-being
Chair-based exercises have positive effects on mental well-being. Regular physical activity can boost mood, reduce stress and anxiety, and increase feelings of overall well-being. The social aspect of participating in group chair-based exercise sessions can also contribute to a sense of camaraderie and connectedness.
It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional or certified instructor before starting any exercise program, including chair-based exercises, to ensure it is suitable for individual needs and health conditions.
Healthy Happy Neighbours:
Introducing the Healthy Happy Neighbour Guide: Inspired by lively conversations, shared tea, cake, and invigorating group exercises, this guide was created by and for neighbours. The Healthy Happy Neighbours guide is a vital component of the iCan Health & Fitness Mid Copeland project, helping to strengthen a vibrant and inclusive community for all.
Calendar & Notes
The guide incorporates a year-round calendar with a dedicated note section, enabling readers to jot down important dates, upcoming community events, fitness sessions, and iCan meetings from January through December. This feature encourages active participation in Mid-Copeland’s vibrant community life, facilitating personal organisation and engagement in local wellness activities.
5 Ways to Live Well
The “5 Ways to Live Well” encompasses coping strategies, volunteering, healthy eating, staying active, and nurturing meaningful connections. Tailored for the Mid-Copeland community, it provides practical, accessible advice for improving mental, physical, and social wellbeing. Each section encourages personal growth and community engagement, fostering a supportive and resilient local environment.
Coping Strategies
This section provides tools for managing stress and worries, notably through a CBT diagram tailored to Mid-Copeland. For group facilitation, members can share their experiences with the diagram, discuss personal coping strategies, and offer peer support, enhancing collective resilience.
Volunteering
Encourages finding purpose through community service, like litter picking. Group sessions could include planning community clean-ups, sharing personal volunteering stories, and discussing the impact on personal well-being and local pride, fostering a collective sense of purpose and connection.
Healthy Eating
Focuses on maintaining stable blood glucose levels for health benefits. Group facilitation can involve sharing recipes, discussing the impact of dietary choices on mood and energy levels, and possibly hosting healthy cooking demonstrations, encouraging a shared journey towards better nutrition.
Stay Active
Promotes physical activity through a “5-Minute Sofa Surfer Session.” In a group setting, this can be turned into a fun, interactive chair-based exercise or bellicon UK fitness session, allowing members to experience the exercises together, share feedback, and motivate each other.
Meaningful Connections
Highlights the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships. Group facilitation could include activities that encourage participants to discuss the value of their relationships, share ideas for deepening connections, and perhaps even plan group social activities, strengthening community bonds through shared experiences.
Customised Content Tailored for Mid-Copeland Residents
The Happy Healthy Neighbour Guide is meticulously crafted for the Mid-Copeland community, incorporating local landmarks and dialect through the familiar voice of Harold the Herdwick Sheep. Each section promotes relatable, actionable steps towards wellness, designed to resonate with residents’ experiences. This personalised approach fosters a sense of belonging and encourages active participation in community wellbeing.
